Data & AI Governance Leader at Cognizant, based in Brussels, Belgium.
I have spent more than twelve years in data governance, metadata management and regulatory compliance. Today I lead data governance for Benelux and the UK at Cognizant, working with European organisations that need their data to stand up to regulators and still be useful to the business.
Before consulting in Europe I worked inside a global bank, in enterprise risk at Wells Fargo, with BCBS 239 requirements for risk data. Seeing governance from both the client side and the advisory side is what shapes my approach: start from the regulation and the business decision, then choose the framework and the tool.
My current focus is where data governance meets AI governance, and what the EU AI Act asks of teams that already carry GDPR. I write about that every month in the EU Data & AI Regulation Brief.
